What it means to be a Booster

Talent

The Grosse Pointe South Choir Boosters, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) tax exempt non-profit corporation established to provide support to the choral music program at Grosse Pointe South High School.  Through our fundraising efforts and the generous financial and volunteer support of our members, sponsors and community partners, the boosters share their time and talents and raise the money necessary to supplement or fully pay for the professional choreography, costumes, sets, competition costs, administration fees among other items that allow our program to be one of the best in the country.

Excellence 
By joining the Choir Booster Organization, a member becomes part of the Legacy of Excellence that is the hallmark of Grosse Pointe South Choir.  A source of great pride to our School District and our Community, GPS Choir has won numerous state, regional and national awards for its vocal performance, choreography, costumes and creative, dynamic performances.  This level of achievement is only possible because of 1) our outstanding choral director, Christopher Pratt and his creative team, 2) a decades-long legacy of excellence that our students aspire to live up to every year, and 3) the dedicated financial and hands-on support of the Choir Boosters that provides not only the essential funds to perform on a national level but also the time and talent necessary to make the costumes, load the trucks, raise the funds, feed our performers, and whatever else is necessary to support our students’ efforts.

Tradition 

he Choir Booster Organization is made up of many different members including the current and former parents, grandparents, relatives and friends of GPS choir students, community members and businesses and philanthropic groups all of whom enjoy our shows and support our talented students and the Arts in GP.  Our members support our talented students in many different ways. Supporters can choose the Membership Level that meets their interests. [include imbedded link to membership level description and application form here]. In addition, Members are also invited to share their time and talent with GP South Choir.  Volunteer time is essential to ensuring we are able to sew the costumes, run the fundraisers, publish the programs, secure advertising  [include imbedded link to sponsorship/advertising levels here], market our program and do whatever necessary to support our students.

Community

As an added benefit, our Choir Boosters become a part of a social network that enjoys the camaraderie and fellowship of others who lend their time and talent to the program.  Whether you are making new friends on a committee, or myriad other volunteer opportunities or attending one of the many after glows or social events that we sponsor, many of our members have made lasting friendships as part of this organization.  We hope you will join us and become a part of our Legacy of Excellence.
