11/11/19: Week #11 Update

Dear Choir Parents, Congratulations to the cast and crew of the Pointe Players’ production of The Game’s Afoot this past weekend. It was a great show! Here are a few Choir items you may want to know this week:

CHOIR STUDENT SAVINGS ACCOUNTS— (formerly known as student escrow account). Reminder: There will be an informational meeting this Tuesday November 12 at 6:00pm (Note the time change) in the choir room for interested parents, to share with you the options you have to raise money for your student’s choir saving’s account.

COUPON BOOKS MONEY DUE — Coupon Book money must be turned in, or books returned, to Anita in the choir office no later than this Friday 11/15. Please make sure your student's name is on the envelope of money and/or books.

TRI-M INDUCTION CONCERT THIS TUESDAY— Congratulations to the students who are being inducted into the Tri-M Music Honors Society this Tuesday, November 12th at 7:00pm. There will be a short concert performance by the Inductees in the auditorium followed by the Induction ceremony and a reception of light refreshments. All current Tri-M members are expected to attend. All choir families and friends are welcome.

SOUTH TO HOST THE MSVMA (MICHIGAN SCHOOL VOCAL MUSIC ASSOCIATION) STATE MUSICAL THEATRE SOLO & ENSEMBLE EVENT THIS WEEKEND — South is again hosting the State Musical Theatre event at the school this Saturday November 16th. South choir parents and students are always the most welcoming hosts to students, parents, instructors and judges from around the state who attend the event. Students can sign up for a shift in class to help out. Chris Pratt will be circulating a sign up genius in the next couple days for parents to help out if you can.

CAROLING IN THE COMMUNITY—Friday & Saturday, December 13 & 14, 2019, 5:00 – 10:00 PM. It is time to start booking your small ensemble of the award-winning Grosse Pointe South Choirs to entertain your guests at private parties and events around the Grosse Pointe Communities! Call Lorie Vogel, our Caroling Coordinator, at 313-475-9150 or email her at caroling@gpsouthchoir.org for information to schedule your entertaining ensemble for December 13 & 14, or call the South Choir Office at 313- 432-3638 to schedule a group for another day.

NO CASH CHOIR FUNDRAISERS — Reminder You can raise money for the Choir by shopping normally at Kroger, Amazon and The Portrait Place. Each of these retailers will donate a portion of your purchases to the Choir.
