Dear Choir Parents, We welcome Chris Pratt back to school after his paternity leave to spend time with his beautiful daughter Annalise. Welcome Back Chris! Here are a few Choir items you may want to know this week:
COUPON BOOKS FUNDRAISER — We are in the final “push” to finalize our Coupon Book fundraiser. If your student has not yet turned in his or her money please turn it in to Anita in the choir office as soon as possible. If your student still needs assistance selling his or her books, Perry Calisi will be leading groups of students to sell their books at Trader Joes and Village Market this weekend. If your student still has books to sell, have him or her sign up to participate in the retail sales this Saturday or Sunday, 11/9- 10. The student sign up sheets are posted in the choir room. Perry will need 5 parents to volunteer a few hours of time to help with the retail sales tables this Saturday or Sunday. Shifts at both locations will be 11:00-2:00pm and 2:00- 5:00pm each day. If you are willing to help, especially if your student will be selling this weekend, please contact Perry at perry1353@gmail.com. (Also, if your student signs up for a shift please remind him or her to be dressed for the weather!) CHOIR STUDENT SAVINGS ACCOUNTS— (formerly known as student escrow account). You have been working hard to help the choir raise money, now we want to help you raise money for your student’s choir savings account to offset the fees of choir. There will be an informational meeting next Tuesday November 12 at 6:30pm in the choir room for interested parents, to share with you the options you have to raise money for your student’s account. CAROLING IN THE COMMUNITY—Friday & Saturday, December 13 & 14, 2019, 5:00 – 10:00 PM. It is time time (believe it or not) to start booking your small ensemble of the award-winning Grosse Pointe South Choirs to entertain your guests at private parties and events around the Grosse Pointe Communities! Call Lorie Vogel, our Caroling Coordinator, at 313-475-9150 or email her at caroling@gpsouthchoir.org for information to schedule your entertaining ensemble for December 13 & 14, or call the South Choir Office at 313-432-3638 to schedule a group for another day. NO CASH CHOIR FUNDRAISERS — Reminder You can raise money for the Choir by shopping normally at Kroger, Amazon and The Portrait Place. Each of these retailers will donate a portion of your purchases to the Choir. You simply need to register at this link http://www.gpsouthchoir.org/ongoing-fundraisers-choir/ The registration process for all 3 takes less than 5 minutes. VOLUNTEER SHOUT OUT THIS WEEK— Thank you to our Coupon Book Fundraising Chair Perry Calisi for his great work helping all students succeed in selling their books. Perry spends time walking neighborhoods with students and working with them at retail sales tables to sell their books and ensure that families are not “on the hook” for the books. He shares his business and sales skills to give the students an education in “people skills” and creates a fun environment for the kids as well. Perry has been on the E-board for several years, serving as President, and Fundraising Chair and as the person who offers to help with whatever task is needed. Thank you Perry for all your great work for our kids! Thank you for supporting your student’s Choir program. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact us. With Warmest Regards, Laura Sanom-Fleming and Katherine Brandon 2019-20 Choir Booster Presidents president@gpsouthchoir.org Comments are closed.
