We are appreciative for our Grosse Pointe South Community, who always cheer us on and for the Grosse Pointe South Choir Boosters for the continued support to the choral music program at Grosse Pointe South High School. ​

The Boosters Inc

The Grosse Pointe South Choir Boosters, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) tax exempt non-profit corporation established to provide support to the choral music program at Grosse Pointe South High School. ​

Who joins the Boosters?
The Boosters members are made up of enthusiastic supporter of the Grosse Pointe South Choir. They consists of different people in our community, including current and past parents, grandparents, other family members, alumni of the program, along with local businesses and philanthropic groups.  

​What do the Boosters do?
​They come together for the common goal of supporting, volunteering, and fund raising to help keep the program running at the highest level of excellence and upholding our Grosse Pointe Traditions. One of the Boosters’ essential functions is to raise funds to help offset the costs that would otherwise fall on the families of the choir students. Through fundraisers, the Boosters are able to cover the majority of the costs associated with producing high caliber performances and compete at regional and national choir invitationals. 

What does it mean to become a member?
By joining the Choir Booster Organization, a member becomes part of the Legacy of Excellence that is the hallmark of Grosse Pointe South Choir. You will share in the pride in our choir members and our children to become the best they can. ​

 What are other ways you can help the choir?  

Kroger Rewards and Amazon Smiles are two of the easiest ways to help raise monies for the Choir. As you do your normal shopping through these programs, they will donate a % of your purchase to the choir, so sign up today!
Help Run the Show:
A program of this level takes a lot of fundraising and behind the scenes work, before, during and after each show. Here are some other ways to get involved. 
Production Volunteering:
  • Costume fitting (At the beginning of every year) 
  • Costume alterations ( e.g. sewing buttons, straps, or rhinestones) 
  • Ironing costumes prior to competitions
  • Costume washing when needed
  • Costume changes- between sets 
  • Community poster distribution 
  • Meal parents - signup to bring students dinner and snacks during tech week
  • Hair and makeup - prior to each production
  • Concession salesperson
  • Flower ordering and pickup 
  • Flower salesperson 
  • Door ticket sales
  • Ushers  
Fundraising Volunteering:
  • Christmas caroling in the community - drivers
  • Carwash organizers  
  • Bottle drives

How are the monies spent from fundraising?

​One of the Boosters’ essential functions is to raise funds to help offset the costs that would otherwise fall on the families of the choir students. Through fundraisers, the Boosters are able to cover the majority of the costs associated with producing high caliber performances and compete at regional and national choir invitationals. 

Costs include:
  • Professional choreographer
  • Costumes
  • Set and props
  • Professional musicians for each performance
  • Competitions travel expenses (e.g. transportation for the students, musicians, directors and equipment to each competition.
  • Scholarships and financial aid for students who need it.

The more successful the fundraising efforts, the more the Boosters are able to defray the costs that families will need to supplement in annual choir or competition fees.
